2008 NLM Tour Report
2008 NLM Tour Report
The 2008 NLM tour was an amazing experience. We saw many people radically saved by the power of God, but we also experienced intense spiritual opposition. Our journey started in Poland and took us through the hills of war-torn Beirut, to the the hard-core Islamic strongholds of far eastern Turkey, to the beaches of Croatia, to the arctic circle in Finland, to the remote volcanic landscape of Iceland and finally to the dangerous corn fields of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Other notable outcomes of the tour:
The Muslim organizer of the 2008 NLM tour in Turkey (he is also the son of a Muslim clergyman) made a commitment of faith as a result of NLM’s tour. As the owner of a production company, his connections could open many doors in the future.
The local church in Diyarbakir, Turkey (a region of 1.5 million people with less than 60 known Christians) was inspired by NLM’s creative evangelism efforts and has now formed their own creative evangelism teams to reach the people of their city. In April 2009, our ministry partner in the Muslim world will be doing a week of training with these groups and then in June, they will conduct a two-week evangelistic tour in the Diyarbakir province.
We are very excited to see NLM’s efforts replicated and multiplied to impact Turkey far beyond our time there in August. This outcome aligns perfectly with Steiger’s vision to raise up evangelistic artists.
Also, a new Steiger ministry led by Mihau Cupial, a full-time Steiger missionary, has started in Helsinki, Finland as a result of the NLM tour there. Helsinki is a very “secularized” city that desperately needs Jesus!
